Wish Lists: MUA

Today I have been stuck inside with a dizzy head and a not so nice headache. The weather has been horrendous, which hasn't helped much. Yet, after several doses of paracetamol I am getting rather fed up and bored. So after watching 'Sprinkle of Glitter's' MUA haul on Youtube (which she made rather a long time ago) I decided to make myself a wish list of products that look rather splendid, not only that but cheap as chips, as us Southerners say!

First off is the 'Cover and Conceal Wand'
I have been wanting a concealer for quite some time in order to put under my eyes, because I have been rather tired during these darker days and it is starting to show. It seems as though night time passes by within only a few hours.

Then I noticed that they had a foundation that is Matte. I really dislike shimmery effect foundations as they look so fake on my skin and I personally prefer a more natural look. This one is of a tiny cost of only £2.00 and they have three colours to select from. I hope to get the 'fair' one as my skin is really quite white during the darker months.

As you may or may not already know from one of my previous posts I recently got an MUA blusher through the post, and I love it immensely. When I saw this one I wasn't overly impressed other than at it's price but when I read the description I was convinced it would be a very good buy. It can not only be used as a foundation but also an eye shadow.

I especially love this bronzer out of the two palettes. This, also doubles up as individual eye shadows.

All of these lovely items come to under £10! If I do get my hands on them I will do a proper review on them, for you.

Good night all!

Style Inspiration: 'The Help' & Taylor Swift

With the elegance of Grace Kelly and the poise of Audrey Hepburn, Taylor Swift seems to fit right in with the many vintage ladies that I look up to. Her understated feminine style mixes the classic silhouettes of the 50's and 60's to create a fun and wearable whimsical look.

While normally a celebrity would be the last place I'd look to for style inspiration, Taylor is certainly an exception! I love how tasteful and natural her hair and make-up looks and her lady like wardrobe.

I watched a film earlier on last year called 'The Help'. I was so in love with the character's dress sense and the way they did their hair and make up. It was so authentic and lady like I couldn't help but swoon over the many dresses and bright lipsticks!

Oh, it is all just so pretty!

Grey Days to Glimmering Blog Party

Over on 'Accordion to Kellie' we are all having a blog party (which to whom everyone is invited) in order to get us all out of the January Blahs.

I am filling out a few questions Kellie gave me in order to take part of her very, very lovely give away.

1) What's your favourite thing to do when you've been feeling uninspired?
I love to get myself out doors to freshen up. I like to take a camera with me and snap some pretty things that often go untouched and unnoticed. It always gets me in the mood to share what I have found to all of my lovely readers.

2) Tell us about a really great movie/show that you've just discovered.
I have always had a bit of a thing for Les' Miserables. My Nanny offered to take me to see it in the theatres in Paris but it never ended up happening so when I found out the new version of it was coming out in the Cinema I felt as though it kind of made up for it. I enjoyed it so, so much! The best film I have ever seen by far.

3) What do you like to do to change your mood?
Go for a drive with Chris and enjoy some good old country side!

4) Your favorite drink is currently...
Ahh, as some of you may already know I am in love with the Redbush Vanilla Tea. It is too good to be true. Some people say that it is too sweet and overwhelming but that is what I like about it the most. Me and my sweet tooth, oh dear!

5) When you hear the word exuberant, what's the first word that comes to mind?
Blueberry's.

6) What made you smile last?
My brother building an igloo in the front garden and him getting ever so proud even though it was only knee high. He is so sweet!

7) What five songs would make a playlist to describe your week?
Oooh, any tune from the movies: Brave, Little Women and Les' Miserables.

8) What's at the top of your creative 'To-Do' list?
Sew that silly hand bag and dress. Come on, Chloe you can do this!

9) The last thing you crossed off the above list was...
Neither, sadly. :(

10)  Quickly - the first movie quote from the top of your head, please!
Oh, dear I have been sat here for a whole two minutes. I must have a very bad memory seeming as I only just finished watching a film.

11)  The best thing about January is...
Snow, lots of it!

12) The worst thing about January is...
The cold. Hem, did that contradict myself?

13) What's your #1 resolution for 2013?
Stay motivated and learn to love myself more.

14)  And lastly, share a quote or verse that you've found especially inspiring lately.

Liebster Blog Award

So I've been nominated for a Liebster Blog award by the lovely Adele. I'd like to say a huge thank you to her for picking me to do this! I didn't really know  what this award was at first but I think I understand now. I think it is basically a chain that is sent from blog to blog that each have less than 200 followers. The blogger being nominated gets to choose nine bloggers that stand out to them in particular to nominate the award to.

So here are the rules, they vary but these are the ones that were on Adele's blog.
  • Thank the person that gave you the award and put a link on your post to their blog.
  • List 11 facts about yourself.
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you.
  • Choose 9 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
  • Go to each bloggers page and let them know you have nominated them for the award.

Firstly here are the 11 facts about myself.

1. My name is Chloe Jane Schofield but you will hear me refer to myself as Chloe-Jane every so often because ever since I was little I have always wanted to have a name that was long and pretty like my Mum's, Katy-Marie.

2. I live in the North of England, we moved up here just under five years ago. We all originally come from the North East of Enlgand but work drove us to live up here instead. I hated it here for years but I think as I have begun to settle down it has become a lot easier. I think I could even say I much prefer it in the North now!

3. I am really into making things, even though I can quite often be awful at crafts.

4. Became an Aunt this year, WAHOOO!

5. I am just a teeny weeny bit of a bone china freak, hence my shop Lobley Cottage.

6. I love make up so, so much. Yet I hardly ever wear any. I don't have half as much as most girls and I never seem to find the time to really start getting into it. Cough, or the money.

7. Went to see Les Miserable at the cinema last week with Chris, literally the best film I have ever seen. And that is not just because it has French people in it and Anne Hathaway!

8. Find myself a little in love with these two:
They just make me giggle and they give such good advice too! What more could a girl ask for?

9. Talking about giggling my favorite TV program ever is 'Miranda.' I don't usually like comedy shows but this one I can not get enough of. Embarrassingly my Mum has stared to be just like Miranda since we have been watching it!

10. I have been educated three different ways.
. At home.
. At a public school
. At a private school
The first one was by far the best!

10. I come from a long line of  traditional Traveler's but our family stopped once my Uncle was born so no travelling for me!

11. Redbush Vanilla Tea is something I am thoroughly addicted to.

The questions Adele had for me

1. If you could live anywhere in the World where would it be?
I would absolutely love to live in the Lake Districts in a big old house with lots of land. It is just so pretty up there. Although, I might have to get my family and friends to move in with me!

2. If you could only shop in one clothes shop for the rest of your life what would it be?
I think if I was feeling naught it would have to be Ruche. Otherwise it would be the Charity Shop.

3. Who's your favourite band/singer?
Can't really answer this one as I am not really into music much but I enjoy listening to accustic things. I do think that the'piano guys' are quite nice to listen to around the house though.

4. What's your favourite hobbie?
I think just generally being creative is something I enjoy. Photography, baking, sewing, make up. It's all so good!

5. Summer of Winter?
Winter! I love the snow and the festivities that come with it, as childish as it sounds.

6. What's the best book you've ever read?
My favourite book is the Bible, I love history and I love God, what more could I want?

7. Favourite song?
'What Makes You Beautiful' it is so sweet, it makes me happy!

8.What would you like to be doing in 10 years time?
A Mummy! I really hope my bone china business might lift off quite a bit by then too.

9.Biggest girlcrush?
Louise over on Sprinkle of Glitter, I'd so love to be her friend in real life. She is just so lovely!

10. What is your favourite beauty product?
I think my all time favourite product would have to be  Pixi Endless Silky Eyeliner in black. It just comes off the pencil so easily and it feels so much nicer too!

11. Biggest guilty pleasure?
My biggest guilty pleasure is eyeing up all of the beautiful up market make up on-line. He, he!

Thursday Loves - Beauty Edition

Hey there, my loyal readers!
I had a fantastical idea today or at least I think I did.
As I have been reading and exploring various blogs recently I have started to realize that the posts I enjoy the most are these types:
Zoella
Sprinkle of Glitter
I came to thinking that I would actually really enjoy writing this sort of thing myself and I hope that you will enjoy reading it all too. As these thoughts came about I felt a little out of my depth because I am not a huge beauty product junkie and I don't have lots of pennies in my purse, hopefully you are getting the twisty jist of things. No matter how little products I have, I love them all dearly and wouldn't mind having a few more, either!

I got this really lovely purse from my parents as part of my Christmas package. I have a big purse from Cath Kidston already. I didn't want to waste my new one so I decided to use it as my every day make up bag. You can buy a similar purse from here for a little price of £6.00

Inside my everyday make up I keep a minimal of two lipsticks and a blusher so that if I go out during the day I can pop this little purse into my hand bag or even my coat pocket so that I can top up whenever I need to.

I generally like to use these two lipsticks the most. A beautiful pink colour which has quite a bright pop of colour to it. The other is a fantastically bright red with amazing pigment to it! It just feels like luxury when putting it on!

I did a little swatch for the English Rose lipstick. I have to apologise for my ugly wrists. The one in the photo isn't so bad but my right wrist is covered in eczema. It is just something I haven't been able to get rid of since the day I was born.

This blusher is true bliss! I absolutely love it. I got this one off Ebay by a seller who is selling them brand new for under £5 which I think is brilliant! This particular one is in Shade 1 from MUA. I think as I am generally on a budget when it comes to think that aren't necessities MUA is one of the best brands that have good prices along with them. Just to warn you, if you are considering buying one of these for yourself they do break easily. The first time I bought this it actually broke before it arrived but the seller happily sent me a new one covered in bubble wrap so just make sure you don't drop it! You get 2.4 grams / 12 M of product for your money which I think is quite good value!

Another product I am loving at the moment isn't actually make up but I use it just as often, if not more so. My mother in law gave it to me for Christmas. She has used it for a very long time, as has her Mother! I have absolutely fallen in love with it. The product is a perfume called, Blue Grass. It is a floral scent but isn't over the top. I have used a few perfumes that were based on floral which have been a little over whelming but this one really isn't at all. It is not every ones thing as I know some might think it an 'old lady scent' but I think it is really elegant and pretty.

If I remember rightly, My Mother in law mention you can pick it up from Super Drug for a relatively low cost. So I think this may become a regular staple for me.

I like the way this the bottle is quite simple but pretty. I sometimes find that the modern perfumes are in these silly tacky bottles that look rather pathetic on my simple antique dresser amongst vintage jewellery and combs. This bottle fits in perfectly, as silly as that sounds.

One last thing to mention, I promise! It is I am afraid another Christmas present but this time I know exactly where it is from. How could I not when it is from my Auntie's shop? Now, as much as you may think it, I am not trying to get my Auntie more sales or any thing like that I just can't express how much I love her products. I love her website, true. But oh you should see her shop! It is absolutely scrumptious!  You walk down a quintessential English cobbled road and turn into a Tudor shop front that is filled with all a girl could ask for. Inside I can not express in words how good it smells ans how lovely everything looks. The next time I go over I shall have to try and take some photos. I only go there once a year at Christmas due it being on the other side of the country. This year she gave me some lovely bunting and this rather lovely basket of goodies!

The shop:

Aaah, isn't it so rustic and lovely?

Oh, Durance Durance, Durance what can I say?! I have a stupid amount of their face moisturiser and now I have their soap as well, woohoo!

I am ever so sorry but I can not get over how completely gorgeous this little bath bomb is. It smells great looks great and it has a lovely French twist on it like most of her products do! I can't say I shall be using it any time soon, I think it is much to pretty for that.

This lip balm is the best balm I have ever used before. It is so soft, smells amazingly zingy and not only that but it lasts for hours on end!

So, now I have two incredibly lovely bath bombs that have beautiful fabric flowers in which I can not just let them wash down the plug hole!

After this very long post I think it is time to bring it to close. I think we may all just faint with the bountifulness of it all if I carry one, he, he! I shall hopefully write soon.

Lots  and Lots of Love,
Chloe xx
