Ah, Cranford. The most hilarious and captivating period drama I have ever seen! Even my husband has been sitting down to watch it with me after a long day of hard work. It has everything in it for everyone comedy, entertainment, romanticism, and a tiny bit of horror. It is truly an amazing series. To be honest, I can't believe I haven't properly watched it before! Now that we have a free month's worth of Netflix to watch, Cranford is a 'must see' for us.
All of the characters are just so funny and particular in their ways! The elderly ladies, especially are just so comical.
The romance between these two is unbearable I can not ever leave Cranford alone until I find out what happens between them in the end. I really hope they get married! They are both ever so lovely and would make an amazingly good couple.
Aww, don't you just love to see the old folk who are still in love with each other? It makes my heart sing. I am almost more gushy over these two than the young couple up above!
Another thing I have been really enjoying recently is this lovely lady's tumblr account called 'The Murmuring Cottage.'
I find all of her photos on there so immensely inspiring not to mention how pretty they all are!
Here are some that have especially caught my eye during these cold and cosy months.
This lovely photo of a delicate and very detailed embroidery has made me want to go get my sewing box out and start getting down to work! I love the Autumnal colours that are used for it.
This rather beautiful scene has not only inspired me to flower arrange but get down to some winter gardening in preparation for Spring. Hopefully, I shall post some photos of how I get on?
Christmas mince pies. I should start to make some soon. Yippee!
Have any of these photos encouraged you to get up and do some good old fashioned hobbies?
Love,
Chloe xx
I love Cranford! It's what I used to get my mom started on BBC movies. She loved it. The part with the lace cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Lark Rise To Candleford? I got both my parents hooked on that one. I loved Thomas' character.
Kimberly
The lace scene is my favourite part so far. It is absolutely hilarious! Does that mean your are British too? No, I have not seen Lark Rise to Candleford I think I shall try and find it on Netflix! :D
ReplyDeleteNo, not British. Only as far as movies go (BBC all the way).
DeleteWhen I was little, I was so mad at my dad that he wouldn't move us to England, so I could develop an accent. It seems so funy now, but I still want that accent.
Ah, I love Cranford too! Also Lark Rise to Candleford... the BBC is simply the nest thing since sliced bread! Oh, I :adored: Miss Mattie and What's-his-name-I-can't recall...! I shed so many tears over that last scene with them. Beautiful.

Oh my I might just have to check it out now that Downton Abbey isn't on until next season!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is all sorts of wonderful by the way :)
Hello Kimberley,
ReplyDeleteI have heard that a lot of American's love our accent, he, he! I love yours in return. Especially the Texas one! Well, if you do ever move to England please come and visit. :D

Hey Kellie!
ReplyDeleteI have really been enjoying your new post with the festive skirt photos. They are really lovely! I agree, the BBC is really good for films like that. I think I shall do my next post on 'The Paradise' which has just come to a close on the BBC.
